In Memory of Coach Steve Hertz — Supporting the Next Generation of Baseball Leaders

We are honored to establish the Coach Steve Hertz Scholarship Fund in loving memory of a true pillar of Miami Dade baseball, Coach Stephen A. Hertz (February 26, 1945 – December 4, 2025). Coach Hertz’s remarkable journey in baseball left an indelible mark on our program, our players, and our community.

For over 25 years, Coach Hertz led the Miami Dade College baseball team with passion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Under his guidance, the Sharks competed at the highest levels, capturing championships, earning regional honors, and consistently building elite talent. More importantly, he shaped young men into leaders, on the field and in life. A Hall of Fame coach, mentor, and beloved teacher, Coach Hertz’s legacy lives on through the countless players he inspired, including student-athletes who went on to professional careers and beyond.

The Coach Steve Hertz Scholarship Fund will provide critical support to Miami Dade College baseball players, helping them pursue their academic goals while continuing the tradition of excellence he championed. Your generous gift will honor Coach Hertz’s lifelong dedication to the game and ensure that future generations of student-athletes have the opportunity to grow, compete, and succeed, just as he encouraged all who wore the Sharks uniform.
