Memorial Scholarship

Anita Small Johnson began her teaching career as an Assistant Professor, specializing in teaching Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical Nursing. In 1989 she joined administration as chair of Generic Nursing at the Medical Center Campus. Under her leadership, Generic Nursing developed its own curriculum, computerized testing, and remedial programs to improve the results on State Boards. Over a 26-year tenure, she earned her full professorship and retired in 1999, becoming a professor emeritus.
